Talisman

from Homo Relicto by Kakapo

/

about

Every word is a seed capable of a big lie. When a human being learnt to use words (and vice versa), the "lie phenomenon" appeared. For example "faith" seems to be good seed, but "religion" not so much. Pay attention to plants you cultivate.

lyrics

Ústa oceánu
vyvrhla na břeh
písek a oblázky…
Slova – dokonale ohlazená
semena lží.
Ty nejmenší (předložky, spojky a částice)
ať rozeseje vítr.
Největší – víš které –
ponech dychtivým dotykům
slepého přílivu.
Nyní mlčky (samozřejmě, že mlčky)
nahlédni, co zbylo v sítu.
Vybírej, jeden – a pouze jeden –
klamínek
si smíš vložit pod jazyk.

English translation:

Ocean mouth
spouted ashore
sand and pebbles...
Words - perfectly polished
seeds of lies.
The smallest (prepositions, conjunctions and particles)
whether the wind sow.
The biggest - you know which they are -
leave to the eager touches
of blind tide.
Now tacit (of course, that tacit)
view what's left in the sieve.
Select, one - and only one -
decepstone
you may place under your tongue.
